Saltwater Dialect

Saltwater Dialect

Written by Caridad McRae

Eyes, Red Puffy Raw
Saltwater stings as they brim the lids and slide down these dry cracked rubbed away layers called skin on cheeks.

It seems the world is moving faster than me and I am getting lost in the blur
but I keep playing the role; I keep moving forward to seem

proactive

Really, all I want to do is stand still and Breathe
No more emotions that filter in lies
No more thoughts that lead to deception in my mind

Just be a thought that remains consistent
without all the questions
without all the why's

These thoughts move thru me,

they are my days and nights of complex ease
One day of breathing without the missteps - leads to a hope with indescribable letters
This hope is what keeps these jigsaws pieces in the same box
This hope is what keeps me intangibly whole

-CARIDAD
"I want days filled with words that rush me to paper and cause my fingers to grab a pen, Because the significance of them in this world is of the greatest importance. So spill this ink, create these shapes, making permanent reality to figments of what was once just imagination."
